My 2005 6.0

I have to to brag and say it. With all the negative there has got to be a positive.

I will share the positive. My 05 6.0 pulls my 12,000 lbs fifth wheel like a twelve legged mule on steroids. I have owned numerous trucks including the Cummins and this 6.0 would treat that Cummins like a cheap date pulling the same trailer. I rolled across the scales this last weekend at 19,740 (truck&trailer). I can't even begin to explain how well this truck has performed with 7,000 miles on it to date I'm extremely happy. Have I mentioned that my 2003 was bought back. I just wanted to add a positive twist to this forum. If I had to complain I wish the truck would get better than 11 mpg draggin nearly 20,000 lbs.

I'll back you up on that. Pulling my 24ft travel trailer w/ my predater @100hp it runs like a raped king kong. I love it when I put the cruise on 75 throw in a movie with 4 people and relax.

argann - if you are pulling a 24' travel trailer in the 100hp mode you are probably going to melt something - did you read the directions?

Well since there are plenty folks pulling around here with chips with no issues I don't see one. I monitor my guages and don't keep the boost maxed all the time. I have seen pull 30ft 5ers that 5k more than mine for years with no issues. I think it is all how you pull.

Tim: I look ahead with one eye and watch the movie with the other. Took me years to develop this.

argann - at least you didn't tell me to mind my own business which I probably should have done. Yes, if you are watching your gauges you are safe - sorry! Kurt

Depending on the weight of the trailer, and according to Superchips I can set mine to the performance tow mode and tow 8000#. In the high performance mode (150 HP) I can tow 6000#. I think it depend on the chip that you are using. By the way 5000# trailer, High performance mode, cruise at 72, still get 14.5 mpg. Ya gotta love this engine, oh yeah and Superchip.
