Stock 6.0 vs Stock Cummins

Who would win in the following situations between a stock 2005 F250 crewcab Fx4 6.0 and a stock 2006 crewcab 4x4 cummins?

1) A drag race
2) Hooking a chain to each bumper, who would pull the other?

I would never do #2, just asking. I have a guy at work who drives the cummins (I have the F250) and he's always bragging about his truck beating my truck in the above mentioned categories.

What do you guys think?

In the drag race I think you will have him but in the chain pull I thin it would be close if not him pulling just a little more as the in-line is a torquey engine. But then again I think it would be close it would depend also on tires and who is pulling from a taller spot. Like is your truck lifted and your hitch is 15in taller then his. Both of those will give more or less traction to the other. The taller one would get more traction as the lower one pulled the taller into the ground and vise versa taller would be lifting the shorter one make it has less traction so there is alot that goes into it. It would be close but I would still think you would have him in the drag. You can look up trucks doing the tug with a chain on you tube. They have dodge vs ford but who knows what mods they have.

Stock for stock I think the 6.0l has the cummins for power. I've driven thousands of miles in my grandpas 05 cummins dually, and going up hills it just seems anemic compared to my truck.

I believe the Ford is also a bit heavier.

Put a SCT tuner on that 6.0 with some custom tunes you'll run circles around that thing.

The rev happy V-8 should be able to beat the CTD in straight line, assuming all other things being equal.

Bumper pull, which is a great way to break parts, it will all come down to traction. Whoever can get the best will win.

Drag race- Ford
Bumper pull- first person to lose traction will lose. If of course, you could figure out a way too keep the bumpers on the trucks.

Dodge is falling behind on the HP/Torque race. Although they do not require DEF fluid yet. Which is a plus to some people.

In a pull off, just keep your foot on the brake, build up some boost, then watch your mirrors. When He starts to spin, let off the brake and drive away.

CR cummins engines have about 100hp on the vp44 truck so it would be a bit closer.

Agreed, but I have ran with my neighbors 03 CR Cummins...(he also has a 2011)

His had a turbo back exhaust.3500 SRW

Mine was 100% stock. 350 SRW

He gave me a good run, but he was still beat.

This was 2 days after I got my truck home....His is still the same, mine not so much...
