Just ordered a new Predator...

And I can't wait to get it! Two quick questions. 1.) Has anyone ever damaged their truck with one of these? 2.) What are the typical adjustment you guys make beyond the provided tunes?

Thanks!

When you get the Predator and have it instlled, let us know what your immediate reaction/opion is on the performance. Mine is on the way and I'm pretty anxious to get mine hooked up, so let me know.

Thanks and Good Luck,

Mark

I purchased mine three months ago. It was a Predator for my 7.3 PSD. I used the 65HP tune setting since everything is stock on my truck. I noticed improvement on the freeways. The acceleration is much faster than stock.

Street driving is not as noticeable because it's harder to accelerate from a complete stop. Overall, the performance is night and day different over stock.

www.motorhaven.com, you get a free update kit if you order it online, or unadvertised specials if you call.

Ok...got my Predator today. I uploaded the performance tune and gave her a spin. Definitely not a "WOW" experience, but there is a noticeable difference you can feel. I checked my 0-60 time several times and overall it is about 1 sec better. Or so I thought. Later when I came home from work (38 miles mostly highway) I noticed that my speedo was way off. It indicated 82mph at 2000rpm when it is usuall about 73-74. So, question number one is how do I fix that? I have a 99 F150 5.4 4x2 3.55LS w/ 255/70/16's.

Next question is when I make any adjustments in the tune (such as for the speedo fix), do I have to restore teh factory tune first and then proceed?

Last question is when there are updates available for the tuner, should I always update to the latest or only if there is an issue?

Also, to those looking to purchase a Predator, definitely call Motorhave first. I guarantee it will be worth the call!

No, you don't need to restore the factory tune first (known as the original backup). It will let you go from one setting to another without restoring first.

Generally, only update if there is an issue or a new feature. Its rare, but there has been a case where an update caused problems for people who previously didn't have them. This was with the 6.0L diesel and the speed limiter in the 100HP mode.

A good deal if having a product with no warranty doesn't concern you. Don't believe anything an eBay dealer tells you about warrantees.

Diablo offers no warranty support for auction sales and an auction dealer is not an authorized dealer (some lie and say they are). From Diablo's web site:

DiabloSport has a system in which an authorized DiabloSport sales outlets know we do not offer warranty or support for products sold at auction, as these products are not sold by an “authorized dealer”.
Predators are "serialized" and Diablo can tell where you got it from, and will require a receipt from an authorized dealer in order to provide warranty service.

I've bought a lot of things on eBay, but never new electronics as most electronic companies don't warranty auction items.

I understand. I have a family and am on a budget as well, and unfortunately my time constraints mean I can only support my Diablosport customers.
