Why then When I rebuild it 360 parts fit.

There is no Ford Motor Company FE engine that does not have the intake manifold/head joint under the valve cover. That is a hard fact the can not be disputed. How many bolts hold the valve cover on? Give us a number off the intake and the heads?

I'm not doubting that you have a 360 but you might wanna look a little closer. Maybe the joint between the heads and intake are covered with grime and you can't see it but if it is a Ford 360 then the intake does extend under the valve cover. Go double check.

Also, if it is a 360 or any other FE your spark plugs will look like this: / / \ \ when you look at the side of the engine.

The only other option is that it is a Mopar 360.

Something's not adding up here. Tell you what, take some pictures of your engine and put them in your gallery. Then we can help you id the engine.

here is a pic of an fe inlet manifold..

notice the further most surface makes up the inner side of he rocker cover seal.

the fe is indeed a "half head" design if thats what you guys call it.. 3 of the push rods go through the inlet on each side.

As far as I know, all FEs are of the same top end design.

That looks like a 2bbl intake with EGR and a 2bbl carb on it. I'm guessing that it probably came off of a 360 to boot.

yup....

360 all the way buddy.... revvy little engines these ......

just finished a top end rebuild on it, hooker headers etc.... should have really got an edlebrok manifold and carb too while the old ones were off but buying this stuff in the uk is a total PITA....

I tell you all what,I REBUILT THE ENGINE, I KNOW IT IS A 360,HARD FACT OR NOT,I DONT NEED TO TAKE PICTURES OF SOMETHING THAT I ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS.THIS FORUM IS A BUNCH OF OPINION INSTEA OF FACT.

The intake manifold extends under the valve cover on ALL FE and FT engines. Period.

That is part of what makes them 'family'. That and the full skirt block. I'm curious where the disconnect is here. Maybe a 351 bored out to 360? I don't know and am not going to waste any sleep or bandwidth on it. I'm willing to have a civil discussion here. But if he's not then I'm done.

Engine Identification (rev):
======================
351C/M/400 335 series: 8 bolts in rectangular valve covers. Timing chain housing is part of block. Thermostat housing on block. Exhaust bolt holes diagonal.
351M/400 335 series: intake is 12.7" wide the 351C is narrow.
351W/302/5.0L 6 bolts on trapezoidal valve covers. Thermostat housing on intake. Exhaust bolt holes horizontal.
429/460 385 series: 7 bolts in rectangular valve cover
352/360/390/427/428 FE series: Intake goes under valve covers.
-There are other indicators but these are enough to distinguish engine families.

What's the cost of petro per / litre in the UK? The man must have money or is that pounds to drive a FE across the pond. Damn the petro costs, lash down the bonnet and "do the Ton". Nortons 4 ever.

dude, you wouldn't believe the cost of petrol over here..

try $9/gal for premium

plus we get taxed on frikin everything.... $8/galon of gas is TAX....Edited !!!!

still, if you wanna drive you gotta pay... we also pay $300/year/vehicle on what they call ROAD TAX.... if you havent got it, they will fine your Edited

but...... you gotta do it..... so at the moment I'm driving the '75 F250 Hiboy and a few months ago I bought myself a '96 Saleen Mustang......

now im broke but happy
