Question Program #05B27 time in for repair?

Dropped off my truck for the transmission repair this morning and was curious about how long you guys that have had this done were without your truck? .

Thanks

Oh boy! A GOOD question! I dropped mine off eleven days ago for that recall. The service manager said they would need four days for the repair. It's still their and I can't can anyone to call me back with status. Good Luck!

Mine was in from Monday to Monday (7 days). I guess some dealers are much faster about performing this then others

6 hours vs. 7 days, man that is a huge difference.
You wonder what is up with that?

6 hours? Impossible. Would take them that long to pull the tranny. This recall requires a substantial break down.

I dropped my truck off on a Wednesday morning and got a call on Thursday around noon telling me it was done. I thought that was fast to get the tranny out, torn down, fixed and re-installed so I posted this question on the flatratetech web site and was told that the repair is possible in this amount of time. I know for a while some dealers were having trouble getting the parts to make the repair. Good Luck.

It's quite possible.....the 05B27 is different than the 04 recall. All the 05 recall is changing a snap ring and that's it. I heard the 04's take a couple of days.

Whoops, you caught me, my truck is an 04, and had the "other" transmission recall performed. I realized my mistate a few minutes after I posted my 7 day comment, but couldn't find a way to "retract" the posting. I guess I should have just edited it to say "please ignore, my brain became disingaged"...

Friggin' dealers. Just got my truck back after 11 days for the '05 recall. The service report I saw showed the tech worked only 7 hours on the trans. All they did was change out the snap ring in question. The trans still delays shifting from forward to reverse. Tech claims that's another problem these trannys have but don't have a fix at this time.

Well, I went by yesterday to check on my truck. It was lunch time so the mechanic was gone. Service guy that filled out the paper work was in so we went back to the truck to take a look. Everything was torn down and siiting out of the truck. He showed me the new snap ring, it is different looking, kinda wavey. Anyway he thought it should be ready today. Waited till around 2pm and drove by to check on progress. Guess what? Everything was exactly as it was yesterday, the mechanic said he had gotten behind. He had another truck pulled in behind mine and was working on it! They said it would be ready Monday. I told them I was going to turn their service loaner, Focus, into a work truck. Really pi$$ed me off. I can understand it not being finished if they were working on it, but to just leave it sitting bugs me. Oh well, this is why I hate oing to the service department. Sometimes I guess we have no choice. OK I feel a little better now.

Dropped mine off a 8:00am had it back at 4:15pm same day, the tech. had previously done 2 others. However same as DZari my 05 delays engaging fwd. to rev. and that's a pain for me while plowing, no help yet on that problem from the dealer or from ford.
