Guys I have a 67 f100 and wanting to paint it something really different from others. I have been thinking purple but don't know what type of purple. Is there somewhere I could look at on the web to see different paint chips. I have tried the only one I know house of kolor but their paint chips don't blow up when you click on them and are really small. Any help would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks
Keith
Bigdaddy...I would think most paint mfr's have a site, but I can't think of any off hand. The only thing to consider is that your monitor may influence how a color chip is displayed, depending on the settings. You know when you go into a store selling TV's, how different the picture looks between them?? That's how it can vary between monitors.
The absolute best thing is to see the actual color chips by visiting your local auto paint supply shop. Then you can get the paint code and order online if you want.
I know your wanting to look on the web but the best place is where your buying your paint, get to know the guy's at the paint store, look through their books. Most are willing to help out and after making a choice, and as Dwayne said, look at the chip outside in sunlight. They may also be able to suggest less expensive mixes that are very close to your selection.
Is it better to buy expensive paint or can you get good quality and shine with a cheaper paint? I saw the alsacorp site and theirs is like $180.00 a gallon. My father in law is teaching me the ins and outs on all aspects of painting and working on cars and gonna teach me to paint my own truck. I want it to look great instead of some home jobs that dont shine.
Thanks
Keith
But also remember that you are looking at this little square of paint compared to youre whole truck,or whatever might be painted, best bet is try to find a truck close to the color you want to see if you like it or not,I have lots of people that see a color in a chip book that they like until they see it on there car.
