Hello from Detroit!

Hello everyone! This is my first post on the Ford forum...I have been a long time member of the S-Series truck crowd. I have grown up with GM, and have just recently even thought about owning a Ford vehicle.

I put a deposit on a 2003 Ford Explorer Limited today, and will be picking her up sometime this week. It was a company demo, and only has 21k miles. This will be my first v8, and my first experience with any Ford product. I don't know the factory color name, but the best description I can give is a pearlescent white.

I hope to learn a lot from everyone on here, and give back within the future!

Thanks for the welcome.

Just wanted to update everyone that I did take delivery of my Explorer Limited today. I have only driven it about 30 miles today (just to work) and I must say it is a very smooth ride!

I don't plan to do much to this truck, as my Jimmy was my first SUV and I of course messed around with it (wheels, indiglo gauges, stereo system, exhaust, engine work, bolt-ons, etc.). I plan to keep this as just a good daily driver.

Sounds like a nice Explorer. You will like the V8, is it the 5.1? I am also in Detroit and recently brought back a rust free 95' F350 dually diesel. Lots of pulling power for sure! Good luck with your new Explorer and welcome aboard!! Mark

It came with the 4.6L...I love it so far. I've only gotten a bit of teasing from the GM guys so far. I've known them so long, and now they say I've crossed into the dark side!
