How to tell if mass air?

Would a 94 351 be speed density or mass air, and how can I tell by looking at them. The reason I want to know is I am looking at a new intake from K&N, but it will only work w/o mass air. If I do have mass air, does anyone know of a intake I can get that will work with it??

MAF sensor looks like this:

MAP sensor looks like this (located in the back, has a Vacuum line going to it and a wire harness.):

What is the problem with running K&N on MAF... I think i remember hearing it, but dont remember.

I'm betting you have Speed density.

I have no idea why the K&N won't work with mass air. It's just what their website says. Perhaps it has something to do mounting or something.

well you can run K&N with maf but it doesn't do much good because your computer wont know what to do with the extra cold air, in order to do it correctly you need to get a performance maf sensor which i don't think is worth the money, i think about 5-6 hundred dollars, then the K&N system, i think the best thing to do if you have maf is to just get a K&N replacement filter about $45.00.

An open air filter will not confuse a MAF sensor. The calibration curve is still the same. The reason the K&N listed won't work is because it has two outlets for the two hoses, while the MAF only has one outlet.
