Warn vs. Stock question
Love the good info around this site, but sometimes it can get you a bit paranoid. My ESOF failed for the first time today in a pasture. The idiot light came on, but the front wheels didnt turn till I got muddy and locked 'em in manually. I havent even tried again yet, but started seeing many guys (or gals) switch to Warn manuals. I am like some of the others, when I need my 4WD, I need it, now. I dont really mind manuals, but would the dash switch still control the transfer case? And where does the vacuum line get blocked off for the front wheels? I am guessing if I do this, I can still use the transfer case in 4L without locking in. I do this from the cab while backing heavy loads. Much easier on the clutch, and gets the motor powered up....
It does have 154000 on it, and the ESOF motor was just replaced before I bought it, so ESOF is pretty nice so far.
Would love some opinions and info.
Thanks, Digger
