You're email address was automatically removed from your post because the owners of this system want to protect you, as a member, from slimy spam monkeys copying your address, then endlessly emailing you about viagra, toner cartridges, and other such nonesense,
Anyway... swapping out a 302 to a 351W isn't a big deal, but its much easier (plug and play) if you acquire an EFI 351W with the wiring harness and the computer, then route things as they seem logical.
Make sure your 351W comes with a flywheel, or buy one aftermarket, because the balance of the 302 flywheel is so far off what you need for the 351W you'd rattle the engine apart if you use the wrong flywheel. Or, have the 302 flywheel rebalanced to match the 351W.
A lot of guys have done this swap, and had no problem, its just a matter of collecting the correct parts you need ahead of time so you don't have to make 20 trips to pep boys.
THANK you FREDERIC iknow this is a bad thing to say but i know a lot more about chevys than fords. I building a 93 f150 ext cab 4wd and would like a little more pep.IT has a 4 speed auto in it now .Does the speedo go through the comp. and do i have to find the electrics to match the pickup to engine. Thank you for the help, BUTCH
The speedo gets it signal from the VSS which is located in on the top of the differential housing. This also feeds the RABS (rear brake antilock). The speedo module converts the pulses to a standard reading for speed and sends the info on to other systems that want it such as the PCM (the computer) and cruise control. The speedo system is independent of the engine type.

Ford, Chevy, Dodge, parts are parts. They all have pistons, they all rust in the cab corners, and they all rattle when they age
Yes, it's easier to swap the engine, harness and computer together. You can put together combinations of various bits, but its more work and only worth the hassle if you have a specific reason to do so, or the original harness/computer is unobtainum.
92-96 F-series get their speed input off the differential, through the rear ABS brake controller. The speed pulses are filtered for the cluster and the ECM by the ABS module, so the ABS module must be present and operational unless you're like me and spend time hacking it out.
The advantage of Ford tapping speed off the differential is you can change anything you like gearing-wise, and your speedo will be as accurate as it was beforehand. Change tire size and you'll have to reprogram the cluster.
