Hey Dogdude , Just got my truck back yesterday and low and behold it was my turbo. It finally has great response again without any fluttering or coughing, plus
it has hardly any turbo lag when taking off from a dead stop. The dealer tech told me that they have been replacing alot of turbos on the 03 and 04's PSD's and they have also been having alot of problems with the EGR valves too!!!
Hopefully this will be the last of my problems with this truck for a while and if anyone else has the symtoms that I had with my truck , make sure they look very closely at the turbo and the EGR valve . See ya !!
Way to go on the new turbo! Well..it sucks that you had to go and get another one, but at least it's new. These trucks have had a lot of problems! And the idea that we see a bigger percentage of them here because people with problems show up here isn't all that accurate. Every time I go to the dealer for a new problem, they tell me about several others with the same problem or worse. And this is a Lincoln Mercury dealer where the over-flow of Ford truck owners go, to avoid long waits and crowds at the Ford dealer down the road.
