2001 F350 4x4 transmission seemed to die this weekend, after an hour+ freeway drive with about 400 lbs. in the bed. I've been towing a 10k lb. cargo trailer about 2 miles every other weekend during the school year. I also tow our 27' travel trailer (~ 7k lbs.) about 10 times a year. I only put on about 12-13k miles per year. There were no warning signs. Would extra gauges have notified me before the breakdown?
Thankfully, I purchased the extended warranty when I bought this used 2 years ago. Are there any things I should be asking the shop to look at or fix while it's there? Like replace instead of repair, or add heavier duty somethings due to my towing usage.
