My girlfriend and I were leaving Saup-Hartley where I had just purchased an electric ignitor for my furnace when we were ran into by an almost 90 year old woman in a big newer model Buick. We were in the little Ply. Acclaim just pulling onto U.S. 40 East of Zanesville and couldn't see due to the over necessarily large mail box that causes unsafe conditions for customers. The car hit us just in front of the driver side tire traveling in excess of 45 MPH in a 35 zone. Knocked the hood and front bumper right off of my girlfriends car. She tore all the ligaments in her left wrist and had a modorate concussion. I've been hit by bigger things than a Buick and was fine but it was still a wild ride. Hate to think of what could have happened at those speeds.
My Sister, with her 2 yr old boy in back seat, was hit by a 90 something ladie in a Cadillac, this past thurs. My sister was driving a, less than 6 month old, Kia Optima (Accord size). The old lady just plowed right through a traffic light. The bad thing was, that the old lady went to the hospital and so did my sister. My sister went home with cuts and bumps and my Nephew was shuck up.
Wow, glad to hear you both are alright. You're really lucky that you were not farther out in the road.
Just this morning on the way to work I had a close call....and one that should not have even been this close. I'm traveling along at 35-40 down the back roads coming to work. I come across a school bus sitting at a cross road just 100-150 ft away. "She" promptly looks at me and pulls OUT!!!! WHAT!!! A bus load of kids just put their lifes at risk, big time. I had to aggressively apply brake to keep from running righ thru the bus side. I gave this lady a look of quite disgust and the "what the heck was THAT" motion. She just kept driving . I was in disbelief of what just transpired. There was NO ONE behind me and if she would have waited 3-5 seconds the road would have been completely clear of any traffic, but she chose to just blatantly pull out in front of me "because she was in a bus and traffic must yield to her?" I wish I would have caught the bus number and made a call. This driver needs talking to.
