code for failing injector?
I have early 03 6.0. Last week I noticed my oil was above full mark by quite a bit. I was wondering if leaky or failing injector will throw a code? Goes to dealer next week but like to have a little info before I go there.
Mine threw a code. The dealer replaced the FICM because of a TSB on it. The injector still didn't work and they had to replace that too.
It should be a yellow solid CEL. The symptoms are shaking, loss of power, etc.

Thanks for reply dogdude,it does shake on cold start up then smooths out after about a minute.Smokes alot on start up also.....Like your dog, always been wanting to get a sheperd. Are they good with kids?
Dogdude2003 can you elaborate more on the shaking? I've got a 2003, all original injectors, about once or twice a week after I've been driving around and engine is warm and I'll be setting at a stop light and It's like someone thru a switch and I can feel shaking thru the brake pedal and floorboard. It isn't consistant though somedays it does'nt do it, some days it does it maybe every other stop. Power feels good, oil level has not changed.
Hey Bob... the shaking is when you are at idle (real bad) and when you are driving you'd notice a huge reduction in power, shaking like it's going to bog out and your fuel mileage would drip to about 9 mpg. What your's sounds like is one of the notorious sensors having an intermittent problem. Also...try some diesel fuel additive.
The shepherds are very very driven dogs if you get the German bloodlined dog. They are good pets and good with kids, but they are working animals and need to be worked or played with constantly. They are very highly excitable, strong, powerful, bark alot, chase people and cars if they don't have anything to do, etc. However, they are extremely intelligent, faithful, loyal, sensitive to the A person and will follow you everywhere. The things I would stress about if you were to buy one is 1. You get what you pay for. 2. You must work, run, play, exercise the dog DAILY or he/she will go nuts, get bored and do damage! If you decide to buy one...do your research and expect to pay anywhere from $800 to $5,000 depending on the sire/dam, line & titles.

The vibration from a bad injector would be like a bad miss on a gasser. You wouldn't just feel a little roughness. I haven't lost an injector yet. I have an early 03 with the C94 injectors.
I have had the slightly rough idle after running on the freeway and stopping for a traffic signal. I don't think it is anything to worry about. I don't want anybody to mess with it. It runs too good otherwise.
