Hello Ford Owners:
I am at a loss as to how I determine the correct value for the PSOM,it is currently(Stock)
setting of 972,now,according to a Radar Gun it is 4 mph fast
with the new (smaller) tire's on it,,so what value do I need to enter to get it right?,or how do determine that myself?
1996 F-150,5.8,E40D,3.55 Lim slip,35,000 miles..
Please Enlighten me.. *Thxs* Rock_me!
9.72 is the setting for the stock 235/75-15 all-season tires which turn 720revs/mile. What tires are you running now?
The formula for a 3800# axle (108 tooth exciter ring) is:
(revs/mi.) x .0135 = PSOM conversion constant
For the 5300# and larger axles it's .015 x revs/mi.
Beg borrow or steal a copy of the 96 shop manual and copy pages 13-01-27,28 and 45. It's all there.
