I was wondering if anyone knows about the settings on the Edelbrock 7811 timing set used with #2182 camshaft.
It has three settings for the crankshaft gear, one for 2 degrees advanced, 2 degrees retarded, and stock. I changed the camshaft this past Sunday and of course the timing set had no accompanying instructions. I assumed the round marking on the crankshaft gear (as opposed to the triangle marking and the rectangle marking) would be the stock setting, as the mark on the cam sprocket was round. Of course no-one was available to ask on Sunday. I wanted to get the thing running and expect to be able to have an acceptable set-up no matter what setting I used.
I think I need to redo the dizzy. Had to turn it as far toward the left as possible to keep it running during the break-in.
Thanks in advance for any help, advise.

I found my instructions for Edelbrock 7800 Series Timing Set. Appears it was easier than going to their website. The circle is TDC; the triangle is advance 4 degrees and the square is retard 4 degrees. Edelbrock recommends straight up for their Performer Plus and RPM Series Cams.

Thanks.
I REALLY should have thought about looking at alternate sources of info as I'm always telling someone to Google something.
Anyway, that's the way I installed it, so I guess I'm okay on that part.
Now, after repeated checks to find out why it won't run right, I find that the #1 cylinder keeps fouling the plug with unburned oil. All other plugs look great. Hoping maybe just too much oil...
