I have a 1982 ford bronco and just replaced the 300 inline six.
The new one is without the Calf, emmissions,is there a intake\exhaust without
the e.g.r. or emission control crap under the carb?
Not for legal use. 1982 emissions required the EGR system be operational. Removing it makes tuning it to run right a real PITA. The intake design kinda relys on the additional exhaust gas running into the intake. Its easier to do than on the newer EEC engines but still not fool-proof.
Thing is, the 300 wasn't used in the Bronco prior to EGR requirements being in place. To get a non-EGR setup you would have to go back prior to about 1972-73 if memory serves. In my recollection the 300 isn't that old. Both of my brother's early Broncos (76 &77) have EGR.
Thanks for the reply, now about the exhaust , theres a butterflie deal in the exhaust with a coil spring outside just above the doughnut gaskett and there is a hole there also ,even after the motor is warmed up I still get exhaust out of that hole and it gets into the cab .How can I stop it outher than replacing the intake\exhaust unit?
