Newbie has question: 300 heads
Hey y'all, this place is cool! I'm not very good at technical terms, so y'all bear with me here...
Anyways...I have a 1965 F100 with a 300. We recently overheated it, blew the head gasket. Finally had time (and no rain) to pull the head off today, and it looks like the valve seats are sleeved(?) and one of the sleeves has blown out. Can this be fixed, or do I need to find another head? This motor has always been very strong, burns no oil, I just need her to limp along for another 100,000 miles or so. ( I know, don't want much, do I?) The valves actually look good, pretty clean, leak a little bit, but not too bad. Opinions, please?
