They're stamped into the area between the rocker bosses, it'll be far to one side, whichever head you are looking at...

A quick way to tell is that the have a little M cast into the corner on the driver side head, near the intake, outside the valve cover...

The rocker bosses are really the stands or what the bolts go into... I'm not sure what else to call them. It'll be to the intake side of the head when looking at it. I had to run out to my garage in my socks and look...

No problem....

Was that pretty easy to set up for the bigger displacement engine? I've always used Demon carbs, never an Edelbrock...

Matt,

On my heads, the numbers were on the intake side of the heads, below the intake ports. I had to remove the intake to find them!

Matt, yeah it was pretty easy setup.Still tinkering with the air/fuel but it runs great.Having an issue now with restarting after running up to temp. After shutting it off and then trying to restart it cranks like it is out of time and you have to hold pedal to the floor. John

Yea.... mine does that too... I'm not sure what causes it, but it seems worse when I'm on an incline. I had to bump my timing ahead a little bit when it got real cold last January...

btw, I've seen several locations for the data stamp, but the most common is right in the flat spot between the rocker boss and the gasket area... sorry, no digital camera or I'd snap a pic...

As common as any other 351M/400 heads. There were very few casting changes to the 351M/400 heads during their respective production runs.
