i own a 96 5.0 4x4 a/t, my first ford, and the best vehicle i have ever owned, the only problems i had out of it is where the previous owner ragged the heck out of it, he tore up the yoke on the driver side front wheel and broke up the spider gears in the diff. and after i got these 2 things fixed it ran like a charm on and off-road. don't think there was any change from 95 to 96, so i hope your truck will be as dependable as mine has been for me. http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gall...&albumid=14797

Gas mileage isn't the best. They run real good if taken care of.

A minor thing i've noticed in 92-96 is the front bumper starts to sag down, but that's fixable with some washers .

i have actually noticed that on mine but never thought much about, of course it was sagging worse, it did have about 10 washers on each side and only 2 bolts holding the bumper on but i fixed that after i put smaller tires on it, somebody did that to fit 33's on it and i put 31's on it.

wow, 10? must've been really saggy. Tomorrow, I have to redo mine.

Cbiker, another common thing is that if you have 2 gas tanks, sometimes the gas leaks from one tank to the other. Ford had a recall on the check valve. Mine has two tanks and doesn't have any problems, but I dont know about the previous owner.
