Hi Guys,
i've just bought myself a new cab for my 53 , it's had all of its rust cut out and panel beating done, all i have to do is fit and paint it.
BUT, my question is, i went to replace the rubbers in the rear cab mounts, and the small tube like rubbers that go in each end of the rear mount seem to be to loose. The old ones took a bit of effort to remove , but the new ones practically fell in.
Is this how they are supposed to be ?
if not, how can i fix it
Recently replaced these on my 55 which is the same mount. The rubbers were a snug slip fit in the steel tubes, also new. Did you get new steel tubes too? You could use silicone rubber from a tube and slather it on the outside of the rubber and assemble the mount. When the silicone cured it would form a good fit.
