hey out there! has anyone changed from dual tanks to single tank?? if so, what was involved?. i'm growing tired of never getting accurate reading on gas gauge, and of problems with front/rear tanks filling one another.
thanks for any replies!
The only thing you need is to get a separator valve thingy from a single tank van or truck. This goes in place of your current one that has 4 lines on the back and 2 on the front and is on the driver side frame rail. The single tank version has 2 lines in front and 2 in back. Believe me you need it for your fuel pump to run properly. I currently have one in my dual tank truck after I pulled the rear tank out because it was leaking. You can just leave your dash selector switch in on the tank you use and forget about any rewiring.
Hope this helps.

thanks for info guy's. i just want a fuel gauge that doesn't always read completely full or completely empty!!.
i will check into seperator next chance i get.
I had the same problem-> reads full until about 1/3 tank left, then reads empty. All that you have to do is replace the internal fuel pump module. I only have the rear (single) tank set-up. I got a new tank from Advance Auto Parts for about $100. Gauge reads perfect now.
