the engine has to be raised so high and so much disconnected, rad hoses,ps lines, exhaust, upper intake, and it still may not come out. if you are not set up to pull the engine forget it.

On older )pre-injection( F150/250/350 models it isn't that hard, done it many times, disconnect hoses ETC, jack up engine, pull pan.

No sweat, well, for me anyway.

Mine is in a 88 F-150 4WD, boy it sure looks like I can get the pan off without any extra work. You guy are sure the engine needs to be jacked up.

to change the oil pump is easy. losen the fan shroud(8mm), take inspection cover off trans(3/8) undo engine mount bolts(18mm), jack engine up buy harmonic balancer(till the end of engine mount studs are .5 inch above engine mount plates, stick 1x3 under mounts to support engine, undo oil pan bolts(1/2), let pan drop to cross member, undo oil pump(5/8), let it drop in pan, slide pan out, reverse to install. the fel pro gasket kit comes with oil pan holders to hold the gasket to block. i just make sure old gasket is scaped off surface and stick new gasket in place, no sealer, when pan is installed just push up and the pan is held in place. see simple iv done them in vans, p-ups,and just about every thing else the inline is in. iv got it down to 35min w/air tools of course. my first one took 2.5 hours with hand tools in my drivway.
