Anyway my main question is what type of trans fluid does the C6 take cause the dipstick says type F but a repair manual I have says DexronIII ATF which is right cause im getting confused .
Also,I have a 76 ford. The man i bought it from told me it has a 390 and a C6 but the engien has 32 352 stamped on it if anyone can tell me what this means that would be nice.
In a 76 the Dexron will be OK.All FE engines had the 352 cast into the block. The clutch material is the reason for the type F fluid in the pre 71 trannnys. They changed it in the later trans.
ok thank you all cause my trans is actting like it has lost a gear and and it has more fluid in it than normal and the last time i put some in was maybe december at the latest im going in tomarrow to see if i find out what is wrong thanks for all the info i wanted to make sure i had been useing the right fluid.
