Hello. I have a 1985 F-150 with 302 EFI that needs a few components under the hood. I'm wondering what years are the same so when I go to the salvage yard I can tell them what years will work. I do know that 85 was the first year for EFI on the 302, just don't know up till when.
You should be able to use almost everything up til about 1994. I know that Ford relocated the air box in the 87 trucks. But I think that was it. What all are you needing/wanting?
'85 was the first year for Ford's 302 w/EFI. I bought it brand new in '85 but was worried of the EFI screwing up but never had a single problem with it. Still own it with 225,000 miles on it. Only problem I run into is performance computer parts didn't come available until '86!
Yes, 1985 was the first year, both carb and EFI were made that year. Wouldn't performance parts for 1986 fit the 1985 also?
Anyway, my problem area is around the battery. I posted about it already and was told the parts should be readily available. The vacuum? box that has part of the battery hold down attached to it has a hole eaten through it from acid. Also, the solenoid valve? pack right behind the box is very corroded, probably should be replaced.
Thanks for the year info, was worried I would be on a wild goose chase having one of the first EFI's.
