truck title

truck title
I am wanting to put the body off of this parts truck I bought onto my highboy. The problem is there is no title for the parts truck so can I just put the driver door off of the highboy onto the body of the parts truck. Will this pass getting around the title problem?

Unless it is a origonal or slightly untouched truck it is getting harder and harder to find a door tag that matches the cab tag, that in turn matches the vin on the frame and on the title....
Many people forget all about the door tag when they swap doors etc. In all theory...atleast as I look at it... if all your doing is swappin the body from one frame to another then that's all your doing is swapping panels. Changing axles or whatever is changing axles or whatever. You've still got the same back bone to the truck, the frame. Hense is you've still got the same back bone then you've still got the same truck and title. Most of the differences between these years are grill and frame.

i would just put the body on there and leave it at that, get a bill of sale on the cab your buying and keep it with your title, most likely no one will ever say anything about it, unless your the type that attracts trouble(like i USED to be), i called about getting the numbers switched from my cab to another cab for a swap like your doing, it was way too exspensive and too much hassle.....the lady at the tax commission is the one that told me to just keep the bill of sale so if i ever have any problems down the line i have it and cant be blamed for having stolen property, but i wasnt supposed to repeat that, ooops!!!!!.......

I've often wondered if anyone has had authorities check the VIN at all. Anytime I've been stopped they only confirm the registration and insurance is valid, no checks of any numbers.
