Smile On A Positive Note

This is just my personal observation and opinion but it can be confirmed as true and not because I am a Ford 6.0 diesel owner but what I have observed in the last few weeks.

I am a construction equipment salesman. I rent all kinds of equipment. About 98% of the general contractors I rent to have Ford trucks in their fleet. Why, (and I have asked the purchasing agents personally) and their answer to me is that Ford trucks hold up the best in the tough environment of construction. Period...

Second, I also rent to various Showmen (i.e. the Carnival industry). Yesterday i delivered a generator to a local fair. I counted 22 Ford Diesel trucks on the lot. From F-250's to F-350's, some srw and some duallys. There was one 3500 04 Dmax cc dually. Now granted these folks are on the road 10 months out of the year. They pull everything from food trailers to game joints to the fifth wheel trailers that they live in while on the road. Again I asked the lot foreman , Why Ford? His answer the same, because they have the best luck out of the Ford diesels. The joke around the lot was " You can tell which amusement company had a good previous year based on how many new Ford duallys are on the lot for this year". Out of the 22 trucks 18 were new meaning 04 and 2 new 05's. 2 were 7.3's. Their is still 3 more fairs coming up in the spring, i will keep you posted..

Third, while driving on I-75 all week I have noticed that the majority of the folks going down to Daytona for Bike Week are driving Ford diesel trucks with Harleys on their trailers behind them.

Okay, I am done rambling, but if you stop and take the time to look, the majority of diesel owners have Ford. And I am glad I own a 6.0.....Period

Here here . I notice the same thing out there . Does anybody out there know just how many diesels were sold by the 3 companies in 2004 . (dodge , FORD , chevy) This would be interesting to see how many each sold .

6.0 man, I'm overseas right now, but live in Valdosta. I've noticed that on I-75 the vast majority of diesels, whether hauling farm equipment or campers headed to/from FL are ford SDs. Every time I'd pass one in my Suburb 8.1L, I'd wonder how much better MPG they were getting. Now I have one on order!

I live in northern MN. where we get all the extreems, from -50 to 100 degrees, snow-sleet-floods to dry dusty conditions. Mostly loggers and contractors and a few farmers. I would say FORD is 2 to 1 on the other brands. My 03 6.0 has had some issues but has never left me sit even in the coldest conditions!
