Hahahahaha, I knew it! If the Ex does indeed stay for 2006, this would be the third time Ford has floated the 'last year for the Excursion' rumor, only to offer it again for another year. Guess it keeps the competition second-guessing, and helps boost sales.
This pic has the Expy XL and an article that Ford may call it an Excursion (Ford still has not named the new XL). Maybe they show that on that table, but it is actually the Expy XL, because there was no listing for the Expy XL.
Wow, did I miss something? When did they decide to move production of the Super Duty from Kentucky to Kansas City? That means the X will be the only vehicle produced at the Kentucky plant. They cant keep the entire plant open for just the X. With that kind of capacity they could produce a years worth of Xs (~10K units) in a couple 2-3 weeks. I have heard rumor that they would only produce PSD Xs. Maybe they plan on producing 10,000 non orderable Xs in a month, then close the plant down. And sence its staying at that plant I would doubt it would change (no updates), a stop gap till the stretch expy comes out.
I read that Blue Oval screwed this up. The Super Dutys and Excursions are made KY, not MO. I doubt that you will see a 2006 Excursion, they are scheduled to make it through August 2005 from what I have read from more reliable sources on this site.
Sorry to break your bubble.... I sure hope that they don't tarnish the name Excursion by putting it on a streach Expy.... That would not be a good move..
Pat
Anyone heard anything about the 6.2 liter Hurricane V8? The link brought it up as a possibility in the Expy. With that replace the V10? Not much room for a engine between 300hp 5.4 and a 352hp V10. Sounds like one would go away.
I think Ford dropped the Hurricane program due to too much $$. If they have a name for the new Expy XL, I think it should be Everest. Leave the Excursion name alone. We love ours.
psdwanabe is right...either that site is full of crap or the superdutys are in fact going to be built somewere elce...i dont understand 06 day 1 for the x is at kentucky and superdutys is at kansas?? somthing doesnt make sense
psdwannabe i have a question. i see you have a pueblo gold X. i am looking to get a 05 x limited pueblo gold, how ressistant is the color? i had a light beige car before and it picked up scraches easily? does that happen to you?
I think beige is a better description of the color. Just went out and looked, couldn't find any fine scratches. Ive been on a few romps in the woods where bush and tree branches would rub against the paint, so I would say no, it doesn't pick up scratches easily. I love the color because there is very little difference in appearance between dirty and clean, and I'm lazy.
