OK..I don't have a welder but I do have a cut off saw. I'm looking to remove my CAT and stock muffler and go with a flow through muffler..
Can I do it myself or does it need to be welded ?? I've heard of stainless steel strap clamps, how wide are those and where can I buy them if they work ..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
big rig exhausts are clamped useing a stainless steel band clamp. these style clamps can be bought at any big rig dealer or parts supply house. i used them on my 99 ranger instead of welding the exhaust and had no problems.
If you plan on buying a bigger system just make sure to ask them if this will all slip fit and has the hangers. The system I got I asked to save me some extra money and leave the muffler and cat out. Then all I had to do was install this on the truck. Now I did do a little welding on mine but I didn't have to at all. The system I bought fit to a "T". I just welded on the flanges and welded my old hangers back on. You don't have to do that with the better kits. Not sure if that is what you asking or will help you
