Does anyone know when Ford will start production of the 2006 Super Duty's? Also what is the earliest you can place an order for a 2006?
Does anyone know what changes, if any, there are going to be to the 2006 Super Duty? I am guessing the price will be going up. Where can you find information on this ?
What is the Job #1 thing mean? Do they build certain trucks at the different plants? If so, do you know which are built at either plant? Thanks for the info!
Job #1 means the beginning of production for the new model year. I believe there can be a Job #2, mid-year production change, including design tweaks, production process changes, etc. I don't know which models of SD trucks are built at each of the two plants.
Once again, Blue Oval News gets it wrong. Super-Dutys for U.S. consumption are built in Lousiville, period. Production was to begin May 2nd, but it's been pushed back to May 14th. The 2005 Excursion will be built at least through August; that tells you there will be very few changes to the '06 S/D. There will be no 2006 Excursion. Job 1 is the first run of vehicles; Job 2 would be any changes to the first run, Job 3 is any changes to the second run, etc...

Thanks for the clarification Jeff. Wow, you would think they would have better fact checking over there.
Which job # is it best to order? Is a Job #2 truck better than a job #1? Jeff, do you know what changes there are in the '06 SD? I plan on going to other dealers and drive their trucks and then order from Jeff. I just want to drive a Lariat V10 and they are kinda rare as most Lariat's are PSD's.
There's no way to order one job or another. If Ford decides to make changes, then they switch to the next job, and you and I have no say in it. Some changes are good (improvements to the product), some are bad (what was once standard is now gone, like rear wheel-well liners).
