Transfer Case Shift Motor??
97 SOHC Control trac 4wd
My transfer case sometimes gets stuck in 4wd low, by hitting it with a hammer causes it to usually shift out and works fine. Will replacing the shift motor:
“A1 Cardone Part # 48204
4WD {[Transfer Case Motors]Reman.)”
$56.79 at www.rockauto.com
Fix my problems? Or is it something more serious?

I also took my shift motor out and cleaned the armature, put it back in and it's been fine since.It took 2hrs and the inside was perfect, like new, except for some carbon tracking, I cleaned that up and now it works perfect for the first time since I bought the truck.
