i have a cfi 302 that has an aod we took all the cfi stuff off and pur a high raise intake and carb on it since its a race motor now the thing is that there is the rod that i think it the kickdown we dont have hooked up under hard acc on the trank it will studder in high rom 2ed since we man shift it how is there anyone i cant rig it up to work or how can i do away with this we bust it only gose good in 1st everything else it acts liek the trans has something stopin it from goin faster do i need a shift kit or do i need a diffrent trans like a c6 the motor has abot 650hp and 750fttq if anyone can help please let me know
I dont think a stock Aod can take that much HP for verry long, You need to get the TV cable set just right or you can damage the trany pronto, search the internet for AOD TV cable and their are several articals on how to set it up and adjust it,good luck thats a lot of HP for any Stock auto trany.
How far have you diven it without the TV Rod connected? If you've driven it a couple miles and under hard acceleration there is a good chance you might have fried your tranny. The TV Rod tells the transmission to shift and without it transmission pressures drop drastically, killing it.
the trany is not fired it shift in to all gears but under hard acc is jsut wants to die out we have had it like that for a good 200 miles or coudl it be that the eng is not geting the right amount of air in there and is casing it to do that we also changed the flunid int he trans it looked liek it hadnt been changed in 20 years coudl that be plain a part in this also
you MUST hook up the Tv rod, without it the trany does not know what to do . you may be locking up in overdrive and not coming out of it. you HAVE to have the TV rod hooked up and adjusted properly or it will never work correctly.
Air has nothing to do with it. it is a pressure system controled by the tv rod.
