Looks like GM might be trying to fight back, I seen on a gm web site that the new truck for 2007 is supposed to have 700 ft lb of tork, They lowerd that thing even lower than it already is and it was a 4x4, I guess they dont want anyone to drive off road at all
It is good to see a power war between the truck brands, when they compete, we win. Now if they would only get into a price war to match it.....https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/newreply.php

Hi there Adams91... good handle you chose there !!!!
it is a bit more coding to do it in the quick reply box, but it can be done once you know what they are looking for (like the smiley face is the colon and right paren characters together ": )" but take the space out of the middle....
but if you click the Post Reply button you can scroll around the presented window and select the "emoticons" you'd like....
All this power is doing is hurting what a diesel is for, good pulling power with increased efficiency over their gas siblings. I would rather have a 200 HP diesel with 500 ft lbs of torque and get over 20 MPG like the old cummins used to prior to the 24 Valve ones. Just a thought, what do you guys think?

Me personally- not a chance in (insert location of choice here).
As for others, I find it totally understandable.
I think it would be wise for Ford to offer a secondary, less powerful and more economic option in the diesel category for the Superduties.
K Brett, I am in the same boat as you, I would kill to have my 2001 F 350 PSD with 45000 miles back, instead of the 04 sitting in my driveway. I loved the 20 mpg instead of 12. I have a Trans Am to drag race with, not the truck.
I am with you guys on the fuel mpgs, I could care less if it will burn the tires off just want pulling power and fuel mpgs, and I too wish I couyld get my 7.3 back it got much better mpgs then my 6.0. It will not be long and the fuel price will curve the sales of the diesel trucks, then maybe they will start building them for economy instead of racing.
Same height as before.
Upgraded Allison transmission.
400hp
Still no new chasis - I think I heard 08
Duramax equiped trucks currently get between 17-19mpg it'll be interesting to see if the increased performace will effect mileage. My initial thought would be NO as mileage seems to be high on the priority list with GM.
I still do my pulling with an old 1988 F-250 4x4 with a 7.3 (444) and rated at 185HP it will do whatever is asked of it and get nearly 20MPG easy driving. I believe that the increased output will effect fuel milage, there is a tradeoff for everything, in our case of increased power of todays vehicles it is fuel milage. I really wish they would offer an engine like the old 7.3's turbo or non-turbo for us who actually use our trucks for hauling and want to get good fuel milage and one for people who care about racing. If oil goes to $60 or $70 a barrel then things will begin to change as they did in the early 80's after the oil embargo of the 70's. The new Dodge Hemi's popularity will plummet and sales of useable vehicles will prevail. These are just some of my thoughts. What do you guys think?

Yes i totaly agree, If i really want a drag car i would buy one of them too!!!!
Hi D-MAX, I did read that they lowered the suspension and they said that made the tires look better because their was not as much room in the wheel wells. I will try and find that artical and post it
