Relaced lower acuator-does gear need adj?
Have a 91 F150. Tilt. I just replaced the lower acuator and put the steering junk back together. I found the broken part when i tried to start the truck and key spun all the way forward and had power, just no start. I relaced the lower actuator but when i put all the parts back together the exact same thing happened. I remember seeing the gear that spun between the upper actuator and the lock cylinder. Does this gear have to be set at a specific setting/position to engage the ingine. I was woundering if i spun this gear around a tad if it would fire up. Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks!

I just did this on mine. If I remember right, the book says that you need to make sure that the last tooth on the gear on the upper actuator engages the last tooth on the key part. When I did mine there was only one way it would go in though. I had the same problem when I replaced mine and it turned out that the end of the gears on the upper actuator were broken so I had to replace it too.
You might want to see if you ignition switch needs to be adjusted so that the rod engages it quicker.
