Guage console not working..

Some info for you...

2000 Ford Excursion V10 4x4 55800 miles

The 4 guages on the left hand side, (fuel, oil pressure, battery, water temp) don't work.

For some reason, when its cold out, the guages don't work.

When its hot outside, the guages work.

I've taken the dash all apart and traced out the connections for the guages, everything seems fine. I should note, that after I did this, the guages actually spike up after start up ( like they wanted to work) but still didn't work.

This is really starting to be a pain.....

Thanks in advanced.

Since it's affecting all the guages, it must be the power feed trace that is broken(common to all). If you could figure out which trace was common to all guages, and where it came from, I wonder what would happen if you installed a jumper wire from the power source at the main plug connector to the first guage it picks up.

It sounds like there is a hairline crack in the circuit board that swells up and makes contact in warm weather, but shrinks back and breaks the connection in cold weather. The jumper wire may clue you in as to where it's located.
