Use red oak lumber and mill to size with table saw. Saw a guy use 1/8" stainless T304 for replacement strips, don't know how he profiled it, evidently some type of roller die. Didn't seem to intricate. Then he used stainless carriage bolts to attach. Make sure if you are going to use a stainless nut on a stainless bolt to use anti-seize and stainless will gall if overtightened without lube present. Another thought since you're from Lousiana would be to use cypress, you could have a bery unique look.
