Just wondering is that the charcoal canister? Does it ever need to be replaced. It seems to have a vacuum line going in and one going out. It doesnt explaing anything about it in Haynes. I assume its cleaning the vacuum air???
The can stores a vacuum "reserve" to assure that there is always vacuum available to the motor or accessories that need it. I am not sure about cleaning any charcoal out of it, I've never done that or even thought about it.
The charcoal canister is near the frame in front of the engine on the passenger side. It's self-cleaning, you don't need to worry about it. The coffee can is a vacuum resevoir as JBronco says, and has no charcoal in it. It doesn't need to be cleaned.
...cleaning the vacuum air??? That's pretty funny actually! And you know what happens when you assume, right?
Sorry, I am just messing around. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of some Ford engineers sitting around a table and discussing the need for clean vacuum air...
You did the right thing by asking advice before tearing into stuff that you dont understand. If you stick to that approach then you will be successful when working on your Bronco. I've seen questions up on this board where the person tore all kinds of stuff apart and THEN wrote when they couldn't get it back together again!
Well vacuum air is as clean as any that the engine takes in since it all passes through the filter before it goes anywhere else. But hey, who knows maybe a kind of "angeoplasty" for the vacuum lines would help all those hard plastic ones from becomeing so brittle and snapping.
wow this is probably the funniest thing ive heard in a while, im literally laughing my *** off right now, and it wasnt funny until i started thinking about it too, then it became pretty damn funny haha
My bronco has a coffee can and a beef stew can. Coffee can sprung a leak and i patched it with jb weld, it is on a 78 bronco can i get a new one? i need clean vacuum air too.
