I have a 92 Bronco with a 351,my problem is that the solenoid is not getting any electricty from the ignition switch, i was wonder were i can trace the problem back too? I can start it using a screw drive and touching the two solenoid poles togather. But i can not seem to active the solnoid from the ignition switch. Where can i check to see if the ignition switch is connecting right.
Also what do you do for low EGR Voltage?
Thanks for your help
Get a 12 volt trouble shooting light, pretty cheap from an autoparts store. Check the wire sending power to the solenoid. It has to go through some safety switches like N or P in the transmission if it's an auto. You need to work back to the source and to do that easily you'll need schematics which will show you what colors you're looking for.
Also, it your sollenoid switch has two posts on it for the control side, one must be going to ground and I think it has some kind of circuit on it as well that may have a failure on it.
