Brake Probs....Help Please
Might be a little windy but please bare with me. I purchased a Power Brake Booster and Master Assm for a 55 F100 I think from TCI. It is the under Floor model. I installed it about a year after I purchased it. It seemed the master cylinder was bad So i thought I would go up to the local parts store and get a new one instead of calling, shipping(Dumb Move
). It seems the Master Cylinder from parts store was not the correct one after all.......Here is the prob.....It seems the Booster Pushrod is too long for Master and it locks my wheels up. So I adjusted the pushrod all the way in and wheels are still locked up and now It drips slowly were the booster and master bolt on. I was reading the article at http://www.classicperform.com/TechBo...oubleshoot.htm about this prob. They sell a new master for $89.....Does anyone know the what type of Master I can get at the parts Store for $15......Thank you Thank you Thank you,
Patrick
If you haven't damaged the master cylinder, can you just chase the threads on the rod farther up and then adjust it to shorten it a bit more? A thread die is gonna be less than the cost of a new MC, I think.
