I have an 03 7.3. It came with the Ford Premium Gold (yellow) long life coolant. Apparently it is good for 5 years or 100,000 miles. I want to flush and replace the coolant, but noone at the local chain auto parts stores knows what to use. They carry the common green, long life orange (like Dexcool), and some new global coolant that can be mixed with either orange or green, but nothing that states it is a replacement for what I have. What have you guys found/used.

Tim - You should look for a organic acid (carboxylates) based extended life coolant. These are still ethelyne-glycol based coolants, but do not contain the traditional suppliments such as nitrites, slicates or phosphate. It is important to not add any supplimental coolant addatives to a organic acid based coolant.

I used the Motorcraft coolant for Warranty purposes in my 02. Not too long ago somebody asked the same question and somebody listed I think the only 2 non Motorcraft Gold coolants that meet specs. You might try a search (if have'nt already) to find the thread I'm talking about. Hope this helps.
