Suddenly Power Windows Wont Work.....
Dave
If it had to be reprogrammed every time you lost power, you couldn't have any work done on the truck.
You will lose your trip odometer reading though. And it will run rough for about 100 miles. The owners manual covers this aspect. I find that after I flush the memory, either working on a mod or reprograming with the Superchips, it's best and fastest to let it idle about five minutes, and then drive a moderatly agressive ten mile loop. Not over the speed limit, but with some freeway tossed in. Brings it back to fully tuned faster than just normal driving. After it's flushed, it won't come all the way back for at least a day or three.

I hope that I did mention somewhere in here that before I found the fuse, the Airbag light came on when truck was started and flashed two or three series of five flashes and then remained on. Once the Fuse was found and replaced, everything worked fine until a three mile drive today when the check engine or service soon light came on (whichever it is called).
Its late... Ha Ha

Also, I THINK i found the ground bolt, is it the one you can barely see over the top of the left kick panel, or do you have to completely remove it? It feels really tight although I didnt get a socket and put on it. Maybe I need to do that too...
Can anyone tell me how you can get OASIS printouts from the computer system the dealers tie into? They use to give them to me, now they wont....
Thanks,
Dave

Wife called this after noon to say that the check engine light turned off... Strange......
I hope the dealer still checks everything over tomorrow... I hope alarm installers didnt #@(* something up...

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Immediately I assumed a fuse had blown and pulled the book out and began troubleshooting. It would soon be dark and the windows were down, so I started the truck to drive up to the parts store to purchase a pack of fuses and a tester and I noticed the Air Bag light flashing in two or three series of five flashes and then it went solid. This remained solid until I returned home and turned off the truck. I checked all fuses that I thought would have something to do with all of these interfaces not working until I came to fuse number 21. Fuse number 21 was blown and once I replaced it everything appeared to work. Once I started the truck the Air Bag light turned off and all seemed well.
On Sunday we went on a three mile drive to and on the way home the Service Engine Soon light came on. Everything else seemed to work, but now the service engine soon light is on.
Our vehicles Power Train is completely stock with exception of a Ford Gold Alarm / Remote Start System which was Dealer Installed by Walnut Creek Ford.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist us with the following:
1. Could you please troubleshoot the truck to find out why the fuse blew, what other problems this may have caused.
2. Please also let us know what the CANODBII Code reads from the computer and what must be done to resolve the problem.
3. Please perform Oil and Air Filter change along with anything else which would be due around this time. (We have the Options Service Plan and Full Extended Warranty)
4. Please provide my wife with a rental car as she must shuttle my kids around to and from schools and appointments today as well as go to work this evening and we have not other vehicle available.
5. Please provide us with a full OASIS print out on our truck.
6. Please contact us prior to performing further work on the truck.
a. Dave may be reached at (707) XXX-XXXX (Cell) or (707) XXX-XXXX (Work) – I would be the best contact for this issue. If a message is left I may return calls within a few minutes if per chance I am unavailable.
b. Kimberly may be reached at (707) XXX-XXXX (Cell) or (707) XXX-XXXX (Home)
Thank you for your assistance! We appreciate it!
Dave and Kimberly
I was shocked to see that my Fuel Pump had been changed, amongst other things and that there was still work to be done and now they want to tear my dash out and replace my PCM Cluster or something like that.
We had a car destroyed and never ran right again after similar repairs, we are hesitant and are not sure our truch really needs this work over a fuse being blown and hope that the dealer isnt just trying to make a buck at our risk and expense.
Any insight on the following documentation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dave and Kim
There are four pages, I will post one page per posting if they fit.
thanks,
Dave
However, you need to get this done.
One thing that may help you is these trucks are very 'modular' as they are intended to be worked on by moro.. er better make that semi skilled workers. Pulling the dash apart on this truck is an easy task for a ten year old with limited tool skills.
It's true that they can still louse things up, but I don't think that will happen with this kind of problem.
I think more damage was done with the 'gold' kit install than is apparent.
That blown fuse worries me. As to the fuel pump, well, don't know if they had another reason to pull it.
As to 'drumming up business' with unneeded repairs, as long as this is under warranty, I don't think that will happen. The return isn't that great from warranty work, and, let's face it, if they want to 'fake' the need for warranty work, they won't actually do anything to the truck, just tell you they did.
Good luck with the posting, you may have to remove some of the 'format' marks to get it to take it. Try putting the content into Word, then cutting and pasting into Notepad, then cut and paste into the forum. Takes a minute, but it cleans up the misc junk that their system doesn't like to post.
