Hi guys, one of my local ford dealers here have a few new 2003 model F250/F350 trucks. THese trucks are 100% new never left the lot or been used as demos. Im interested in purchasing one, I just dont know what I should offer them for the truck. As of now I dont think ford still has rebates out for the 2003 models. So what do you guys think I should pay. The sticker on it is about $42000.
2003 at the lots????????? If it is a tride and true 2003, offer about $20k for it.....they will jump at the chance to rid themselves of it. It they dont sell it, I belive Ford take it back and the dealer loses.....I think that is how it works but I am not sure. My dad bought a left over 2004...........yes a 2004.......it stickered at $39K and got it for $26K.......they were so happy to get rid of it. Now 2004 was just a bit over 2 months ago................2003 well 14 plus months ago.

Less than half of sticker? Ain't gonna happen. Yeah, it's two years old, maybe a little more. But a used 2003 would easily go for more than what you are telling him to offer. If these trucks are still sitting there, you gotta wonder about bargaining with them in the first place. Others must not have been too successful If for some freak reason they are still sitting there and no one came asking about them, you gotta wonder why some used car dealer didn't pick them up. Heck those guys could make killing off of them. At $42k sticker, these must be diesels. I would imagine trade in on a 2003 diesel with 25k miles on it would be at least $23,000
Step away from the 03 6.0 But if they are early 03's with 7.3, go get em. The early 6.0 are nightmares thats probably why they are still there. It doesn't help that they been sitting around that long either. I am sure you could get very good deal on a left over 04 somewhere. Pass
Run from those trucks as fast as you can. They'll be nothing but trouble, sitting around that long. The dealer's a MORON for still having them, and will laugh at you if you offer anywhere near $20,000. If he was reasonable, he would have sold them a long time ago. And you're right: the 2003s have $0 rebate.

Good post Jeff. If he was reasonable, he would have run them through auction and gotten something resembling invoice....a year ago. There's a reason some dealers go broke.

Of course guy I was being moderatly sarcastic by saying $20K. If they were a stand up dealer thay would have been sold long ago. With this given situation $20k would be the only reason to even condsider those trucks.
