I've got a 96 5.0 and the check engine light came on. The truck is running fine. Is it risky to drive the truck with the light on until I can get to dumping the codes?
Pull the codes as soon as your are able. You can either have them read or go to fordfuelinjection.com and learn how to read them. Truck is trying to tell you something.
You guys are right on, its an OBDII and you need a code reader to dump them. I had it done today and it turned out to be an emissions control valve that is sticking. Thankfully, not a major fix. Thanks for all the advice.
