I have a 95 300 5 speed. The truck usually sits a couple of days between driving it if not a week. It will start fine then I will drive it or more or less idle it for about 20 feet then take off on the main road. Then sometimes, not all the time, it will seem to not necessarily miss but bogg down for about 10 seconds and then it will resume normal operation. My first thought was a clogged injector or maybe a bad fuel pump. Then this occured I put injector cleaner in it and I have yet to see a problem until today. We have been getting some serious rain and the wife and I thought we would go check it out. We drove around for about 45 minutes to an hour and then I approached water across the road I went to cross it and as I approached the end I figured I would tap the gas a little and see if I could throw some water in the air. It started to bogg a little again for about 15 seconds. I don't think it is water reaching the filter so my next thought was could it be the clutch or transmission related. Could be the fuel pump but I did not put a great demand on it when I tapped the gas. I am leaning more towards clutch but I would really appreciate any input. Thanks
Sounds like to me that you have moisture in the fuel or just moisture in your cap.Its very possible w/rain or humidity since the distributer is lower than a v-8.I have put HEET in the tank before and it does an excellant job of removing water.Have you changed your fuel filter lately?? Good luck Windsor
The miles on my truck are around 60,000 and I purchased the truck about 4 years ago with around 35,000 on it. I have just done the usual oil, air filter, lube. I am getting a book on the truck to see what king of maintenance I will need to do since it did not come with one. I am going to get one that is a little more indepth such as motor swap, clutch changing, etc..
I added a fuel injector cleaner recently so I will probably let that tank run out to see if anything changes and if not I will add the HEET. I drove it again today and had no problems. I think it might be moisture from where it sits for so long. It has been hot and humid here just like the rest of the country. But it sure does sound like a fuel pump going bad. The clutch doesn't slip yet so I don't think that is necessarily the problem. Lot of miles on a clutch though. I really in my opinion baby this truck as far as driving to give you an idea of that aspect the mention of the above about going across the water don't get the wrong idea that was the second time ever the first time was a must. The idea of moisture in the distributor caught my attention though that would explain after start up a sluggishness for a few moments and the possibility of getting moisture in it crossing the water, I would also think it would idle rough which it never did so that puzzles me again. I will examine the distributor more closely tomorrow and see what is going on there. I have heard or seen were people put a whole in the distributor for this what do you all think?? Thanks alot for the help. I am clueless please any and all replies appreciated greatly
My F-150 does this especially if there is dew in the morning. It Idles fine, but when the RPM's get high enough, it will sputter and bog down for a minute or two unless I let the engine warm up. Try a new set of ignition wires and cap and rotor.

Appreciate it I looked the distributor over and it was pretty tight everything looked sealed. It is about time I might as well do that and see what happens. Past couple of days I haven't had a problem. One of those things that has to completely go before ya know what it is. Thanks for the input
