Found my 89 F250 4.9L 6cyl 4 speed engine starting problem to be the bushing that connects my clutch pedal to the hydraulic clutch push rod is worn out. This causes alot of play in the clutch pedal and the neutral interlock switch not to move in far enouigh to make contact.
Until I find a place to buy one of these little bushings I was going to bypass the neutral interlock switch, problem is in the Chilton manual it only shows a total of 3 wires connected to the switch and the switch itself has 6 wires connected to it. Anybody know which wires I can use to bypass this switch and still have the truck run right?
Are in the Ford parts department.
Don't go bypassing the switch.
It is there as a safety device.
You could end up being Bubbas soap boy if it starts in gear and runs over someone.
