so for the past few months when i start up my truck has been smoking A LOT... mostly the white smoke. i don't think its blue, but not sure (buddy says blue-ish white). its really starting to get on my nerves and the guys at work too ...i remember reading somewhere that this could be caused by either the Injector O-rings needing to be replaced or perhaps the turbo pedistal o-rings. had the truck a year, 200K on it, don't have a clue as to the history of it other than what i have done. the glow plugs and the relay are new, so thats out of the question. any ideas?
Is it smoking when cold or all the time. Cold, blue/white is common. If its excessive then I would lean to a glow plug problem. I had the same smoke at cold starts, and it choked out the neighborhood. I had two bad plugs and now I only get a very light smoke on cold starts. How long ago did ya change the glow plugs. Also maybe the glow plug relay.
nah, its not the glow plugs. they were replaced around 3 months ago? with no-start conditions and a new GPR about maybe 2 months? whenever its cold around here right now (maybe low 40's) it cranks right up, but loads of smoke. chokes the parking lot at work after its sat for 9 hours duringthe day. and thats startin with the temp usually around mid 70's or so. don't matter the temp really, but if its been sitting for more than a few hours, it smokes. thats why i'm leaning towards O-rings or somethign different.
