Replace factory VCP with DVD player

Replace factory VCP with DVD player
I have a 2002 Expy EB with the video system and was wondering if anyone knows if I can replace the VCP with a upright DVD player? I haven't yet tried to take the VCP out to check the wiring but was curious if anyone has tried this or even heard of someone else doing this.
I can't possibly be the 1st Expy owner to come up with this idea.

Yes. Thanks David. I plan on running with the factory screen. I haven't taken the VCP out to check if the outputs are similar. I assume they are.
This other hardware you mention...... what do you mean?

Wasn't sure what exactly you had. I used to use a portable dvd player. Now that I got my roof mount, I could still use my portable through the roof dvd. If you have other monitors, you could get about anything and use it.
