Using Floor Jack on 2005 SD Diesel

For tire rotation for one, is it ok to use a floor jack under the front and rear axles, if placed close to the wheels, so I can put a jack stand under the axle ? Or do I need to jack up the fram instead to get the wheel off the ground ?

I used a floor jack and jackstands to rotate my tires and it worked fine. I even lifted the front end all the way up with the solid front axle (04) and the extra weight of the diesel. Just make sure to use jackstands too

You should not have a problem. Jack stands are a must though. Floor jack have been known to fail and seriously injure or kill people.

I argree jack stands are a must, that thing is heavy! just want to add-> make sure you never jack it under the differential; Ford says it causes cover leaks.

Thanks for all the help. I learned about the advice of jack stands through a discussion on using Hi Jack. Definitley plan on using jack stands. Question, with the SD, is 3 ton jack and stands sufficient ?

Careful, you might dent the jack.
