Crawled under my 03 to look for a motor oil leak and noticed on the side of the automatic transmission, a bracket that I'm sure is used for the manual shift of the transfer case. This transmission is a factory orignal so I know, no one has changed it out. Anyway, this truck has the "shift on the fly" switch on the dash. Why do you think that it would have this bracket, even though it will never be used? My only thoughts are that as this truck was asembled at the factory, a transmisson that was supposed to be installed in a manual shift transfer case pick-up mistakenly got put in my pick-up. You guys got any idea?
This is no big deal as I just took this bracket off because it was real loose hanging there and was only held to the trany by a couple of threads of the bolt. Looks like it could be a $50 or $60 bracket and it has this part number on it F81A-7F069-AE. Suppose it is "freebee"? Anybody need one?
I went and looked at my 02 that has the same automatic trany and has the "shift on the fly" switch and there is no bracket and no sign of one ever being on this transmisson. Inquirying mines need to know...any ideas?
