Country Music Collection advice?
I have to rebuild my Country Music collection (I got raided when the ex moved out)
If you were going to git the most you could -
What would you say should be gotten right away?
And if you wanted the ULTIMATE Country album collection, what should be in there???
~Dang, I bet this draws a ton of posts...
(He says, sheepishly)

(At least I managed to hang onto Merle, Clint, and Kenny Rogers...)

First the George Strait box set, "strait out of the box" Best box set I have ever seen. I would then get the Conway Twitty collection box set.
There are alot of good albums out there, but i would start with the box sets so i have something to listen to until i am able to buy all of the stuff I want.

'Got Clint, roger ball on:
Conway, Hank, Johnny, Waylin, and George Strait.
I need some Judds too...
Also *****, and a bit of Chris Christopherson - if I can find albums that ain't a group effort!
JERRY REED!
Don Williams?
REBA MCINTYRE!
Tanya Tucker...
PATSY Cline!
(Help me think, people...)

yeah - you mentioned Alan Jackson (just now).
*smiles*
And thank you!
It's funny - but this thread reminds me of all the times my Poppa and I used to cruise the back country, and the neon signs of all of the road houses went by as we drove on out the old two laners between the hills...
Kinda like a road song from the good old days.
I miss that

A little boy, in the passenger seat. He didn't know where his Dad was going - but the stars were real bright outside the windows of the '61 Desoto. There wasn't much talk between them, but it wasn't really needed.
Out of the blue - Poppa had asked: "Do you want to go for a ride with me, in the back country?"
And he said yes...
Both of them were caught up in the beauty of the landscape going by - even if it was dark, and hard to see farther than fifty feet beyond the splash of headlights around them.
It was late, and the hills hid everything until the next curve brought something new into sight.
- Flashes of brush, and drop offs, and signs along the road. Once in a while a tavern went by - with flourescent neon signs...
But up over the car - the stars were brighter than the young man had ever seen - and it made the entire ride an ethereal vision - a memory to forever remain like a dream, locked inside his mind.
Cruising with Poppa!
With country music on the AM radio
And it stayed with him...
